Clark Reiner has nearly 30 years of experience in international business development and consulting.
Reiner’s Work Abroad
Mr. Reiner lived in Malta and Spain from 2016 through 2017, where he established and operated a family office.
Prior to this, Reiner worked in London from 2011 to 2015 for a privately owned oil and gas company that focused on acquiring mid-stream operations and joint venture opportunities in Trinidad, Tobago, Iraq, Louisiana, and eastern Texas.
Instrumental in the Execution of the Basra Sports Complex in Iraq
In 2011, he culminated in three relationships with a boutique consulting firm, Newport Global, that he co-founded. Newport Global originated, negotiated, developed, and consulted on the construction of one of the largest development projects awarded by the post-Saddam government in Iraq. The $550 million “Basra Sports City Complex” is a multi-venue, mixed-use complex built in the Iraqi port city of Basra. The stadium opened in 2013.
Head of Client Relations for Mahler & Emerson Inc., Consultant for Allied Investment House
From 2002 to 2009, Reiner served as a Vice President at Mahler & Emerson Inc., a Broker Dealer and Registered Investment Advisory firm in New York City. He headed client relations and co-led operations and compliance.
During this time, he was a consultant to Allied Investment House, an Abu Dhabi-based private consulting company. At Allied, he analyzed and consulted on real estate and technology and raised $80 million in debt finance for a Dubai real estate development project (The Dubai Lifestyle City, a multi-purpose development project covering 4.15 million square feet). Reiner also advised on the partial sale of a private bank and consulted for an Amman-based cell phone technology company focused on pre-paid mobile phone cards in Jordan.
Reiner’s Early Career
Earlier in his career, Reiner worked with New World Charter, a shipping and ship management company where he focused on business development and origination for dry bulk commodities.
He began his career and became a Vice President at The Bull & Bear Group Inc., a mutual fund management and retail brokerage company. He later worked as an assistant in the Global Wealth Management division (known at the time as Private Client Services) at Goldman Sachs, New York.
Reiner is a former board member of Infodrive Services, which was a publicly traded company on the Mumbai exchange, and is a former member of The Institute of Directors (IoD), London.
Reiner’s Rich Academic Experience
He earned his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Business (2002) while working as an analyst in the Television Network Finance division of Fox Media and as an analyst in the International Marketing and Sales division of 20th Century Fox Films.
During his undergraduate years, Reiner studied at The University of Cape Town; the University of Chang Mai, Thailand; The L’institute Catholique, Paris; and at Caius and Gonville College; Cambridge University, England. He graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont with a BA in African Economic Development and Asian Cultural Studies.
Reiner is a graduate of the Fulbright Foundation program at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. He is also a former member of the alumni councils of St. David’s School and The Knickerbocker Greys Military Cadet Academy and sat on the board of the Soldiers Sailors and Airman’s Club.
His Support of Numerous Charities
Clark Reiner has supported numerous charities, including a school in Kenya where he taught English to children. He was also a volunteer, for 10 years, with a Catholic charity that brought health afflicted pilgrims to Lourdes, France. He is a member of the Naval War College Foundation and supports The Island School on Eleuthera, Bahamas.
Reiner is a passionate sailor and has competed in several of the world’s great ocean races.
